Sony Xperia T3 and Xperia M2 LTE officially arrive in the US

Sony Xperia T3 and Xperia M2 officially arrived in the United States. The duo of mid-range devices is available to purchase directly from Sony’s official online store unlocked and contract-free.

Sony is asking $399.99 for the Xperia T3 phablet, while the water-proof Xperia M2 is priced at $279.99. Both handsets feature AT&T and T-Mobile-friendly 4G LTE bands.

Nokia, LG Electronics, Sony Mobile Communications to stay in tablet market

Smartphone vendors Nokia, LG Electronics and Sony Mobile Communications are likely to continue to stay in the tablet market, while rivals including HTC, Motorola Mobility and BlackBerry may choose to focus on the smartphone sector, according to industry sources.

After releasing its 10.1-inch Lumia 2520 tablet, Nokia plans to expand its tablet portfolio by releasing an 8-inch model, the Lumia 2020, in the first quarter of 2014. The Lumia 2520 and Lumia 2020 both target the mid-range to high-end segment, noted the sources.

LG has announced that it will begin marketing its new tablet, the LG G Pad 8.3, in Taiwan on November 25 with a suggested retail price of NT$9,900 (US$335).

Sony Mobile is expected to release more tablets in 2014 after launching its Xperia Tablet Z in 2013 targeting the high-end tablet segment, while China-based Huawei and ZTE have been stepping up their cooperation with telecom operators to promote entry-level and mid-range tablets.

However, since a number of vendors including Acer, Asustek Computer, Lenovo, and Samsung Electronics have already launched tablets with price tags below US$200, competition in the tablet segment will be keener that in the smartphone sector, commented the sources.

Sony launches PlayMemories Online service Russia

Sony has announced the availability of the service in Russia PlayMemories Online storage and easy transfer of photos and videos taken with your mobile devices.

Users can upload pictures and videos to the service via a mobile app, available in the store Google Play, as well as on playmemoriesonline.com.

All content downloaded from a variety of devices available in a uniform manner and is structured into different categories. So, users can sort photos and videos by date, parties, etc. Also PlayMemories Online offers a convenient way to create albums based on templates ("Travel", "Diary", "Autumn", "The Beach", etc.), which You can view a variety of devices, or upload to Facebook.

Free app from Sony provides the ability to sync photos and videos repository PlayMemories without restrictions. Pictures of the most memorable moments will no longer be stored in the memory of different devices, and are available for viewing in a single interface with a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Pictures and videos are uploaded to the service are automatically grouped into albums and sorted by recording date. In order to collect photos, just follow three simple steps: choose photos, choose a theme and provide additional information. PlayMemories Online application also provides an opportunity to increase the pictures displayed and hide duplicate frames.

When you upload photos to the service, they are placed in a special section accessible only to the user who uploaded them. Also, the mobile application allows you to share photos with family and publish favorite pictures on Facebook.

To use the application you need to login with an account that Sony Entertainment Network. Then, users can setup, which will organize photos in the store, loaded with different devices.

Sony Xperia Z vs Z1 vs Galaxy S4 speed test

There are some excellent Android smartphone choices available at the moment and the Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship is a dominant force on the market. A couple of the Sony handsets this year that have also impressed are the Sony Xperia Z and the more recent Xperia Z1. Today we’re looking at some Sony Xperia Z vs. Z1 vs. Galaxy S4 speed tests.

These are all notable handsets that people may be thinking of purchasing over the coming weeks and months, and it’s always interesting to look at how they compare speed wise. With this in mind we have two YouTube videos to share with readers below this story that will give you an idea of how they fare in this respect.

The first is a 3-minute video showing the Sony Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z in a speed test and shows that both are running the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The video first looks at both devices booting down with the Z1 being a little faster. A boot-up test follows where again the Z1 has the edge on the Xperia Z, although it’s not really a significant amount of difference.

The second video below shows the Xperia Z1 running Android 4.2.2 in a speed test against the Samsung Galaxy S4 running the 4.3 version of Android. As in the first comparison the Xperia Z1 is quick to power down, beating the Sony Galaxy S4. In the booting-up test the Xperia Z1 is once more the victor.

Introduced along with PlayStation®Mobile Developer Program Support,
Further Accelerating the Expansion of the PlayStation®Mobile Platform

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced that it will launch PlayStation®Store (PS Store)*1 for PlayStation®Mobile (PSM) in nine new countries starting December 18th, 2013. With this expansion, SCE will offer a wide variety of exciting content via PS Store to users in total of 18 countries including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, as well as in newly added countries including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and New Zealand.
Prior to the PS Store expansion for PSM, SCE will offer the PSM Developer Program which includes distribution of the official PSM SDK*2 in the newly added countries starting December 5th, 2013.
Allowing a wider range of developers -- from indie to large publishers -- to create dedicated content for PSM, the PSM Developer Program has been available since November 20th, 2012, in Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia, followed by the launch in Hong Kong and Taiwan on January 21st, 2013. With the addition of nine new countries, developers in a total of 20 countries will be able to create entertainment content for multiple mobile devices, further expanding the world of PlayStation to an open operating system*3 through PSM.
This program enables developers, who have entered into the licensing agreements with SCE*4, to easily distribute content through the PS Store on a commercial basis. It also allows them to market their games to millions of dedicated gamers around the world that own a PlayStation™Certified*5 device or PlayStation®Vita.
